Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Where does trust come from? How do we trust? How do we trust each other…our spouse, our family, our friends? How do we know how to trust? How do we know who to trust? How do we know others trust us? How do we know WE are being trusted?  To some, these can be our daily questions and they can be consuming. It can be a daily struggle. So, what do we do?

We lean on the Lord. We know who God is, we know God’s heart and intentions for us… we surrender and give God control of the outcome and we have patience. We have patience with Him. We have patience with each other.

We all go through difficulties and challenges in our lives. We pray, and we pray even harder during those difficult times and challenges. We start to lose trust. We sometimes lose our trust with family members, friends and even your closest loved ones. So how do we gain their trust back?

Psalm 37:3-5

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this.

We live in an uncertain world. When we trust in the Lord, he will guide us down the right path, the right direction. Sometimes we don’t always make the right decisions in our daily lives, but when we rely on the Lord, He will change our hearts, change our desires. We sometimes lose our faith, lose our hope. But, when we trust in the Lord, then we trust in each other, no matter the circumstance.

Psalm 40:4-5

Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
